With this spring campaign InterRail wishes to highlight that travelling by train with an InterRail Pass is a unique and sustainable way to explore Europe. In addition, "travelling in the low season guarantees a more relaxed and enjoyable travel experience, as touristic sights as well as other facilities are less crowded and hotel prices are often lower", states Silvia Goerlach, InterRail Marketing Manager.
The InterRail Global Pass offers train travel throughout 30 European countries from Portugal to Poland, starting from five days up to one month. This gives the pass holder the freedom to choose and even change their itinerary on the move.
Rail pass travel through Europe has gained popularity since 1972 when the InterRail Pass concept was initially introduced to youngsters under the age of 26. In recent years families and seniors have started to favour budget-friendly train holidays. Senior travellers and youngsters can benefit from further reductions, granting a total discount of up to 40% based on the full fare adult price.
To support pass holders during their travels a dedicated InterRail App is available. This hugely successful application ensures that pass holders have offline European timetable information at hand whilst avoiding expensive roaming costs. The App also gives access to a list of extra InterRail benefits such as free and discounted boat and ferry trips, hotel and museums. Plus, country facts about the participating countries are included and it's possible to find the closest railway station with the handy built-in GPS function. The free Rail Planner App is available for iOS and Android smart phones.
InterRail Passes are sold by the local European railways and on http://www.interrail.eu.
