AeroCare Awarded CAMTS Accreditation For 14th Consecutive Year

CHICAGO, April 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- For the 14^th consecutive year AeroCare Air Ambulance Service has been awarded accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) as a fixed wing aeromedical provider. This weekend AeroCare was pleased to receive the phone call from Mr. Dudley Smith, Associate Director of CAMTS that the Board of Directors had deliberated and granted AeroCare full accreditation status at all three of their bases, which includes our newest base located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. AeroCare is one of only three CAMTS accredited Air Ambulance providers in Florida.

The CAMTS accreditation is one of the most prestigious accreditations a medical transport program can attain. Providers who voluntarily apply for the CAMTS accreditation are held to a strict set of guidelines and safety standards that encompass all areas of the program to include Medical direction, crew education, communications, quality improvement, aviation and most importantly safety!

Not all transport programs make the choice to become CAMTS accredited because the process is labor intensive and changes the entire culture to ensure that they are functioning at the highest level. AeroCare made the decision to to hold themselves to these higher standards by choosing to be CAMTS accredited 14 years ago.
