NEW YORK, April 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Applause Tickets (www.applause-tickets.com) got its start 29 years ago, when Rich Gladstone and Bill Stolting decided to start their own Broadway ticket broker business. The first year saw the founders rake in nearly $1.7 million in sales, largely to hotels, but also a healthy portion of Broadway theater tickets.

The company started small, but Rich and Bill had a firm business plan. Before long, Applause Tickets had a large following of hotel concierge throughout NYC. In the first few years, sales grew to $15 million and the company hired 29 people to meet the demand. Despite the success, the founding partners didn't let the success go to their heads – they kept marketing their "special brand of service" and exceeding all expectations. Soon, Applause Tickets began working with travel agents from around the world, becoming a supplier in the various global ticket distribution systems. The rise of Internet "copycat" websites, the events of 9/11 and the 2008 recession all posed challenges for Applause tickets, yet the company has prevailed and prospered.
