Avianor Inc. announces record second quarter aircraft inductions

Aircraft Maintenance and Modifications are alive and well in Mirabel, with 32 visits scheduled.

MIRABEL, March 24, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Avianor Inc. is pleased to announce that its second quarter event schedule has surpassed 30 scheduled visits necessitating the addition of 150 additional technicians and facilities expansion.

In addition to regular maintenance scheduled in support of the company's contract with L-3-MAS to perform heavy maintenance on the DND CC-150 (A310) aircraft, the company has inducted the first of two B777 Heavy Maintenance and Cabin modification visits for a U.S operator and another European client has entrusted Avianor with a C check one of its A310 aircraft.

In parallel to the above, Avianor will induct two cabin modification lines for Air Canada. Both contracts won through a competitive bid process and involve modifications to 7 x B777-300 and 10 x Airbus A321 aircraft.

"In addition to adding staff and renting more hangar space, we have had to conduct careful planning in conjunction with the airport authority (Aéroports de Montréal) to make sure we avoid congestion problems and provide a safe work environment", said Sylvain Savard, President of Avianor.

The company also reports that for the first time in its history it has had to turn away work.

"We were offered three wide-bodies heavy checks and a large heavy narrow body check but it was a simply impossible situation, we owed it to our clients who booked in advance to not over promise and under deliver! The entire Avianor team has been working very hard to execute these programs and will continue to shine under these challenging conditions", remarked Earl Diamond CEO of Avianor.
