Camping in national parks - Beginning of bookings on February 11 and 12

QUÉBEC CITY, Feb. 8, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Camping in Québec's national parks will be popular in 2017. This year, Sépaq extends an invitation to book a campsite in national parks from February 11 and 12, according to a pre-determined schedule. To obtain the desired location and date, it's smart to book early. For those with a specific campsite in mind who are planning to camp in a Québec national park for a weekend or during festivities - Father's Day, Québec's national holiday, Canada Day, or even Labour Day - it's best to book as soon as possible.

Opening hours of bookings for campsites in national parks

To facilitate the process, the opening of bookings is staggered by establishment. As of the scheduled opening of bookings for each national park, bookings can be made online (sepaq.com) or by telephone (1-800-665-6527). As of February 13 only, it will be possible to book directly at the establishments themselves.

However, this schedule does not apply to bookings in wildlife reserves and tourist resorts, where a campsite can already be booked.

New interface
The interface of the Sépaq campsite-booking transactional site has been optimized for all types of devices in order to offer a more user-friendly, intuitive, and simplified booking process. It's now possible to see the options available across the network in a flash. What's more, fact sheets and pictures will make choosing the perfect campsite easier still.

Increased offer
The camping offer in Québec's national parks network keeps on growing to better adjust to demand. For example, Parc national du Lac-Témiscouata inaugurated two new camping sectors last summer. Parc national du Mont-Orford also refurbished its Stukely sector for the 2016 summer season, and Parc national des Îles-de-Boucherville now has a campground featuring, among other facilities, several ready-to-camp campsites, only a few short kilometers from Montréal.

Pilot project on the presence of dogs in three national parks
The pilot project regulating the presence of dogs in Frontenac, Jacques-Cartier, and Oka national parks in order to measure their impact on the visitor experience and the natural environment will continue for a second year. For each of the three national parks included in the pilot project, dogs are permitted only in authorized areas, including certain campsites. Compliance with regulations is the key to success.
