The three kings: Melchior, Gaspar and Baltasar bring thousands of presents to the Spanish kids. The event is celebrated every January 5 in the evening. All main Spanish cities have a cavalcade. The great cavalcade is the one from madrid but the cavalcade of Barcelona is also a great event. The Cavalcade of Alcoy is the oldest in the world.
Find below a small the video of the cavalcade 2015 from Figueres - Catalonia. This event was organised by the company Drakonia. http://www.drakonia.com . Drakonia is probably one of the best companies that can perfectly organise this type of events. This video was made during our visit in this city. #nofilter #nopostproduction
The saying goes that after the Kings gave gifts to the infant Jesus, they handed out gifts to children during their return journey. So in Spain children write to the Three Kings, who bring them presents on 6th January. The Kings' Day Parade is the biggest parade of the year and the day after is a public holiday in Spain and is the biggest gift giving day of the year in Spain.
This day is widely celebrated in Spain, Latin America and the Caribbean but also in Poland, it is still a venerated tradition. El día de los tres reyes magos is more symbolic of Christmas-with its biblical story involving the baby Jesus.
