NEW YORK, May 11, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Friday, May 13, Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum hosts the High School Design Summit, an unparalleled opportunity for teens to engage with some of the nation's most celebrated designers. National Design Award winners from 2016 and 2015 and guest designers will provide short mentoring sessions to more than 200 Washington, DC public high school students and offer advice on education and career paths. Before meeting with designers, who come from a variety of fields such as fashion, architecture, and product design, students will also participate in real-world design challenges to further their design thinking skills. The Summit takes place 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at Smithsonian Arts and Industries Building (900 Jefferson Drive, SW, Washington, DC).
