Crowne Plaza Director of Housekeeping Receives Second Act Honor

LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Janet Tyre, the Director of Housekeeping at the Crowne Plaza Louisville Airport, was recognized for her achievements at the Louisville Business First "Second Act" awards at a breakfast this morning at The Henry Clay.

Janet was serving as an office manager for a restoration company when she decided to make a career shift, relying on a "giant leap of faith and encouragement from friends and family" to transition to her hospitality career with the Crowne Plaza Louisville Airport.

"The best piece of advice I ever received was from my mom, and she said to me, 'You can go anywhere you want to go, and you can be anything you want to be, just don't ever give up on your dreams,'" Janet said.

A graduate of the University of Louisville, Janet is known among her colleagues for celebrating her team and creating events and ideas to lift the morale of her staff and celebrate their hard work. Janet is a member of the corporate Crowne Plaza "Brand Champion Team," serves as a member on the safety committee and has been a certified hospitality supervisor since 2014.
