LOS ANGELES, April 26, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Cookbook author & food blogger Susie Norris won an IACP (International Association of Culinary Professionals) Digital Media Award in the Recipe Based Blog category, announced the IACP at their Hollywood conference on April 3, 2016. Her culinary travel blog, Food Market Gypsy, focuses on desserts, cities, culture and cuisine. Her first win comes after one year on the road and 10 years writing about food

"I am honored and encouraged. It's a fine time to be a food writer," says Ms. Norris. "With writers as leaders in popular food culture like Anthony Bourdain and Jonathan Gold, and writers like Dorie Greenspan and David Leibovitz setting a literary tone for dessert cookbooks, we have more opportunities than ever to connect to diverse cultures and people through food.  I have miles to go before I sleep."

Susie is the author of Hand-Crafted Candy Bars (with Susan Heeger; Chronicle Books 2013) and Chocolate Bliss (Random House/Celestial Arts, 2008).  She taught baking, pastry and English literature at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts and ran an award-winning artisan chocolate business for 10 years. Prior to her work in the food business, Susie was a television executive and supervised writing and production for the networks including NBC, CBS and Disney/ABC. She currently writes for the University of Southern California and is working on her third book.
