According to officials, there will be at least 32 ships coming into port this October; each will be arriving at one of the city's three cruise piers. Punta Langosta, TMM/SSA International, and Puerta Maya area the "big three" ports in Cozumel that become quite busy each year when the first days of October arrive, according to El Cid Vacations Club.

In fact, each of the big ports sees somewhere between 6 and 14 ship arrivals each week of October onward. It is not unusual for there to be 20 major cruise liners in port at the same time during the high season. El Cid Vacations Club points out that the busy season for the cruise ships in Cozumel runs from the middle of November until mid-April each year, but begins in earnest in October.
