MAZATLÁN, Mexico, March 24, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- El Cid Vacations Club knows even those who have never heard of the mid-20th century music and film star will enjoy a trip to the Pedro Infante museum in Mazatlán. The man's career was one of the more colorful, even compared with better known celebrities of his or any era.

Sometimes called the "king" of Mexico's golden age of film and cinema, Infante was born at the close of WWI, in 1917. When he came into his own as a film star, the golden age was just beginning. The 1930s until the late 1960s saw some of best products of the Mexican cinema exported worldwide, according to El Cid Vacations Club.

The Organ Grinder (El Organillero) and one other feature film were his first credits in 1939, a year in which he was just 22 years old but already an established presence in cinema. It was not until three years later, in 1942, that Infante made his mark in a starring role. He played the lead in the classic comedy, Jesuit in Chihuahua (Jesusita En Chihuahua). From that point onward, he was one of the most recognized and beloved personalities in Mexico.

In a series of later films that made him even more famous, Infante performed his own stunts. He was indeed a risk-taker who was intrigued by fast cars, motorcycles and airplanes, according to El Cid Vacations Club. A local resident of Mazatlán, Infante's untimely death in 1957 was a shock to the community and led to the establishment of his memorial museum that stands in the city today.

According to El Cid Vacations Club, a visit to the museum is not only fun but educational. It is interesting to see how one of Mexico's biggest stars lived and played in an era gone by, and what life was like during the Mexican golden age of film and music.

At the south end of the beach at Olas Atlas, just a short walk from the museum, visitors can trek up the hill a short distance to view the Pedro Infante motorcycle sculpture which rests silently as it looks down on the beach below. The Pedro Infante museum is a living history book that tells the story of one man's journey through the early part of the last century. His story is at once heartwarming and inspiring for anyone who has an interest in the cinematic arts, according to El Cid Vacations Club.
