Employees Vote Wind Creek Hospitality One of the Best Casinos to Work For

ATMORE, Ala., Jan. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Happy employees mean happy guests; but what does it take to ensure your employees are happy? In the fast paced and competitive casino industry, it can be difficult to maintain a successful company while upholding guest and employee satisfaction, but thanks to our outstanding team members, Wind Creek Hospitality (WCH) has managed to do just that.

Casino Journal,  an independent global information source for gaming, and Best Companies Group (BCG), a company whose goal is to establish programs that "distinguish companies who demonstrate and are superior in workplace excellence"  teamed up and created the Best Casinos to Work For 2016 Contest. The contest gave casino employees across North America an opportunity to voice their opinion about their workplace by confidentially completing surveys and questionnaires that consisted of 8 core focus areas. The results were then tallied in a point system in order to recognize the highest ranking contenders. The top ranked companies were found to have incorporated fun into the workplace, emphasized work-life balance and support in employee life outside of the office.

WCH is a values-based organization with over 2,000 employees. Employees are recognized with quarterly incentive compensation and recognition programs such as the Best of the Best Awards and Wind Creek Cash.  Not only does the WCH place high emphasis on employee recognition, they also stress the importance of employee health. In addition to a company-wide wellness program, each property has a wellness center with an on-site trainer. WCH Vice-President of Human Resources, Catherine Timmons, had this to say about her company's ranking "I am thrilled that our employees feel so positive about working at Wind Creek Hospitality! Being recognized as "One of the Best Casinos to Work for in 2016" is a tremendous honor, especially since it was our own employees who provided the feedback. A big thank you to all of our employees who work hard every day to make WCH a great place to work."

WCH was not the only Indian gaming corporation to be recognized in the contest; in fact, the top 5 ranking casinos were all involved in tribal gaming, which speaks volumes about Indian gaming's focus on community and employment.

The reservation is located eight miles northwest of Atmore, Alabama, in rural Escambia County, and 57 miles east of Mobile.

The Poarch Creek Indians is the only federally recognized Indian Tribe in the state of Alabama, operating as a sovereign nation with its own system of government and bylaws.  The Tribe operates a variety of economic enterprises, which employ hundreds of area residents.
