Starting 2016 off with a note of general excellence, El Cid's overall devotion to providing top-level service and excellent facilities earned the 2016 TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice Award.

TripAdvisor also bestowed 2016 Certificate of Excellence on select El Cid Vacations Club's resort locations in Mexico. Award recipients must meet exacting standards in order to be considered for TripAdvisor award designation, and 2016 marked yet another year in which El Cid Resorts took home the Certificate of Excellence.

Another major category of the TripAdvisor Awards relates to environmental awareness and sustainability. Two El Cid resorts, El Cid Castilla Beach as well as the Hotel Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort were recognized by TripAdvisor as Green Leaders for 2016. In fact, those two members of the El Cid family earned the highest level within the Green Leaders' classifications, Platinum Status.

The elite Green Leader Platinum Status award is only bestowed on resorts that meet or exceed exacting environmental standards that include energy conservation, social responsibility, carbon footprint reduction and recycling.
