Former Yosemite National Park Superintendent Joins Chimani as Advisor

PORTLAND, Maine, March 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Chimani, Inc., a developer of mobile app guides to the outdoors and National Parks, has announced that Mike Tollefson, former Yosemite National Park Superintendent and Executive Director of the Yosemite Conservancy, has joined the company as an advisor.

Tollefson brings 40+ years of leadership and national park experience to Chimani, having been the Superintendent of Great Smoky Mountains, Sequoia & Kings Canyon, Glacier Bay National Park, and mostly recently Yosemite National Park, as well as a park ranger at Katmai, Denali, and Lake Clark National Parks in Alaska, Virgin Islands National Park, and North Cascades National Park.

Tollefson graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Marketing and Finance. He has been awarded the National Park Service Director's Partnership Award for outstanding achievement in support of his work in Yosemite National Park, as well as the Presidential Rank Award, Secretary of Interior's Executive Leadership Award, and the American Society of Landscape Architects Honor Award.
