The Government of Canada Supports Zoofest & OFF-JFL Festival

MONTRÉAL, July 11, 2019 /CNW/ - The Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism, announced today $10,000 in funding to support the 11th Zoofest & OFF-JFL festival in Montréal.

The Canada Arts Presentation Fund support will allow the public to discover emerging music, theatre, entertainment and comedy talent at numerous multi-disciplinary performances held at several Montréal venues, and outdoor stages in the Quartier des spectacles.

The 11th Zoofest/OFF-JFL festival, from July 11 to 17, is dedicated to showcasing emerging comedy, music, theatre and improve performers. In particular, OFF-JFL highlights the best new Anglophone voices.

More than 135 artists will perform at 80 comedy and theatre shows in eight venues in the Quartier des spectacles.

SPOT Zoofest is back with a new location on the Place des Arts Esplanade this year. This bilingual stage offers 12 days of programming from July 17–28.

The Canada Arts Presentation Fund provides funding to organizations that host arts festivals or seasonal professional-performance programs. It also supports organizations that back arts broadcasters.
