Greyhound Temporarily Suspends Service In Parts Of Florida Due To Hurricane Matthew

DALLAS, Oct. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Greyhound today announced it will temporarily suspend service beginning at noon EDT on Thursday, Oct. 6, along major routes in Florida, including Orlando to Miami, Miami to Fort Myers, Miami to Key West and Jacksonville to Miami via Fort Pierce due to Hurricane Matthew. Temporary terminal closures will also take effect in select cities.

"Because safety is the cornerstone of our business, we will not operate our service when severe weather strikes," said Evan Burak, regional vice president. "Greyhound is continuously monitoring the National Weather Service reports to assess the latest conditions and to determine when and where it is safe to travel."

Beginning at noon EDT on Oct. 6, the following terminals will temporarily close:

Melbourne
Fort Pierce
West Palm Beach
Fort Lauderdale
Miami
Key West

The terminals in Jacksonville, Ft. Myers and Orlando will remain open but have limited service. If a customer's schedule is affected, they may bring their tickets to the terminal after it reopens so Greyhound can rebook or refund their tickets at no charge.
