LONDON, October 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --

Mayfair is the most expensive London neighbourhood for hotel stays, according to a new survey by CheapRooms.co.uk, which compares accommodation costs in 30 districts across the UK capital.

For the purposes of the survey, average rates for the cheapest available hotel room during the month of October were compared across these 30 neighbourhoods. Only hotels with at least a 3-star rating and with above-average guest reviews were considered.

Bordering leafy Hyde Park and dotted with Georgian townhouses and gourmet restaurants, upscale Mayfair leads the rankings with an average rate of £231 per night for the most affordable room. The nearby neighbourhoods of St James and Knightsbridge fill the other podium spots with average rates of £218 and £207, respectively.

Located in west London, Hammersmith emerged as the least expensive neighbourhood in Central London for hotels with an average rate of £88 per night. Other districts where visitors are likely to find a room for less than £100 include Bayswater, Paddington and Kensington.

Visitors on a tight budget may also consider staying in a hotel close to Heathrow Airport, which is well connected to Central London via the Piccadilly line, where they should find a room for around £50 per night.
