LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (Oct. 29, 2020) – This morning, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds flew over EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort as part of a tribute video honoring fallen military heroes. The flight demonstration squadron is in the Orlando area for a local air show, and their flyover of Walt Disney World marks the arrival of National Veterans and Military Families Month in November.
This December, footage of the Thunderbirds' flyover of Walt Disney World will be included in the Gary Sinise Foundation's virtual Snowball Express conference, which serves the children of fallen military heroes, their surviving parents and guardians, and Gold Star families.
The Walt Disney Company founders Walt and Roy Disney both served the United States during World War I. The company is a leading proponent of hiring, training and supporting military veterans with the Heroes Work Here initiative, the Heroes Supply Here program and Disney's Veterans Institute. This special flyover is the latest example of Walt Disney World's long tradition of celebrating members of the United States military.
