On National Aboriginal Veterans Day, join us for a conversation with Tim O'Loan, an Indigenous veteran. Tim's talk will bring together elements of his service in the military, identity, trauma, historic and contemporary racism, and reconciliation.

Remembrance Day – Online Resource
Planning a Remembrance ceremony? Looking for accessible primary source materials? Developed for educators, this new digital resource includes artifacts, art and documents from the Museum's collections, as well as historical overviews and learning activities. This online module has content and suggestions for Remembrance ceremonies that are ready to use, or can be customized for your class, school or virtual event.

Memorial Hall Livestream
November 11, 10:40 a.m.
On Remembrance Day, at exactly 11 a.m., sunlight shines through a single window in Memorial Hall to frame the headstone representing Canada's Unknown Soldier. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no visitors will be permitted in Memorial Hall during the event. It will be streamed live on the War Museum's Remembrance page, and on its Facebook and Twitter channels.

On Wednesday, November 11, the Museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission will be free, but a timed ticket is required.

This special tour highlights the areas of the Museum that touch on Remembrance, including Memorial Hall, Regeneration Hall and the Royal Canadian Legion Hall of Honour.

Spend a moment of quiet reflection in the Memorial Hall. The headstone from the grave of Canada's Unknown Soldier is the only artifact in the room. To safely ensure access while respecting COVID-19 restrictions, only one social group will be admitted at a time and the duration of the visit may be limited. Memorial Hall will be closed to visitors until 12 p.m. on November 11.

As part of Remembrance Day commemoration activities, the Canadian War Museum hosts The World Remembers, a visual installation presenting more than 3,100,000 names of military personnel from both sides of the First World War who died between 1914 and 1922.

The Canadian Forces Artists Program – Group 8

The artists selected for Group 8 were deployed entirely on Canadian soil, with several artists travelling to Northern Canada. The resulting art contributes to our understanding of what it means to serve with the Canadian military at home.

An exhibition created by the Canadian War Museum in partnership with the Directorate of History and Heritage.

Liberation! Canada and the Netherlands, 1944–1945

This wall display pairs powerful photographs and archival items to highlight the important role played by Canadians in the liberation of the Netherlands at the end of the Second World War.

Legion National Foundation's Poster and Literary Contest Winners 2020

Each year, students across the country submit artwork, poetry and essays to the Legion National Foundation's Annual Poster and Literary Contest. This year, the Canadian War Museum is proud to exhibit the winning entries — eight posters and two literary pieces.
