MONTRÉAL, May 16, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - To mark the 50th anniversary of the Bed-in for Peace at The Queen Elizabeth, the hotel management invites media representatives to a press conference for the unveiling of several commemorative activities and installations, including:

Royal Canadian Mint Silver Coin Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Give Peace A Chance
The Mint has captured that special moment in Canadian and music history with a pure silver coin celebrating Lennon's artistic talent and social activism. The 99.99% pure silver coin features a rendering of Ivor Sharp's famous black and white photograph of John and Yoko at their "Bed-In for Peace". 

Give Peace a Chance, the exhibition
Until October 9th, the hotel presents a free exhibition retracing the story of this famous week from the point of view of photographer Gerry Deiter who was on assignment for LIFE Magazine.

New design for the hall and door of Suite 1742
Guests of the hotel will discover a legacy of the 50th anniversary outside the suite. The most photographed door and hallway of the hotel have been reimagined with vintage photos telling the story of the Bed-in for Peace.

50th anniversary Bed-in Concert
On May 30th, at 7 p.m., the hotel is holding a benefit concert for Amnistie Internationale Canada Francophone. The evening will bring together DJs Geneviève Borne and Ève Salvail, singers Beyries, Joël Denis (present at the Bed-in in 69), Jonas Tomalty, Kevin Parent, Les Porn Flakes, Lulu Hughes, Miriam Baghdassarian and Yann Perreau.
