EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J., July 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Middlesex County Fair Association today announced the full schedule for the 2016 Middlesex County Fair, to be held at the Middlesex County Fairgrounds in East Brunswick, N.J.

The fair, celebrating its 78th anniversary season, will offer a full slate of rides, food, craft vendors, entertainers, live music and 4-H events, as well as king and queen and home arts competitions. The county's agricultural heritage will also be represented through animal and vintage farm equipment displays. The fair will be open Monday, August 1 through Friday, August 5 from 5 p.m. to 11 pm., Saturday, August 6 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday, August 7 with expanded hours from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The tradition of affordable entertainment continues in 2016, with the fair offering an entry fee of seven dollars – among the lowest for county fairs in New Jersey – and free parking. Seniors 65 and over can enjoy a discounted $4 entry fee, and children 3-12 may enter the fair for $1. Children under 3 may enter for free. Patrons are encouraged to visit the fair website at www.middlesexcountyfair.com and follow the fair on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates before and during fair week.

"We've been a part of this community for 78 years, and we continue to provide Middlesex County with yet another family-friendly, reasonably-priced fair this year," noted Alan Habiak, president of the Middlesex County Fair Association. "With the overwhelmingly positive reaction to our expanded hours for the 2015 fair, we've expanded them again this year."

Patrons are encouraged to visit the fair association's website, www.middlesexcountyfair.com, which includes directions and parking information, as well as a full printable schedule of events, entertainment, competitions and vendors at the fair.
