Million Dollar Winner Believes Win Was Answer to Prayer

MONTGOMERY, Ala., March 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Wind Creek Casino & Hotel Montgomery (WCM) confirms that Gloria L. of Birmingham, AL has won a jackpot worth $1,165,115. The win occurred while Gloria was playing the Million Degrees electronic bingo game.

Gloria says she and her husband have both been working two jobs to make ends meet for their three kids and the two others she has taken in to help raise. When her son asked her this past weekend if there was any way she could stay home instead of going to her second job this week, she told him that "it is in God's hands and He would have to make that decision". Gloria believes God gave a clear answer.

When the jackpot hit, Gloria was so shocked she could not even hold the phone. A gentleman playing next to her took her phone and dialed Gloria's husband's number. He kept patting her on the back telling her to breathe, he was not going to leave her. When casino staff arrived, she was answering their questions, and then turned to the gentleman to thank him—but he was gone. She asked if anyone had seen him and they told her that no one was sitting there. Gloria said he was her Guardian Angel.

Gloria plans to pay for her family, including her mom and mother-in-law to go on a cruise. She said they had never done anything like that and she wants to treat them to a great time. But her church will get their portion first. "I have a good car and my husband has an almost new truck; so I think we will just put the money back and enjoy being home with the kids at night and on weekends" Gloria explained.

WCM driver, John Kilpatrick, transported Gloria and her family home after the win. Kilpatrick says "I'm thankful to meet such a deserving person."
