Nearly 1,000 attendees are expected for the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau's Family Reunion Planning Seminar this Saturday at Sound Board at MotorCity Casino Hotel

DETROIT, Oct. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Nearly 1,000 people are registered for this Saturday's family reunion planning seminar hosted by the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau (DMCVB). The complimentary event at Sound Board at MotorCity Casino Hotel provides family reunion planners all the information they need to plan a successful family reunion in metro Detroit.

"Family reunion business in Detroit is very significant, consuming more than 15,000 room nights and generating an excess of $16 million in direct visitor spending," said Bill Bohde, DMCVB Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing. "The increasing number of new developments makes this a bigger draw than ever for reunion business."

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the DMCVB and the complimentary services they provide to reunion planners. There will also be breakout sessions focusing on the first-time reunion planner, social media and activities throughout the region. The event will begin with a trade show featuring 60 exhibitors, including representatives from metro Detroit hotels, restaurants, attractions, and service providers. Exhibitors include: MotorCity Casino Hotel, The Henry Ford, Westin Southfield, Motown Museum, Great Lakes Crossing Outlets, Wyndham Garden Sterling Heights, Buffalo Wild Wings, Tuskegee Airmen National Museum and Alexis Novelty.

The seminar schedule is as follows:
