NEW Fall/Winter Museum Programs and Exhibits at the Arizona Commemorative Air Force Museum

MESA, Ariz., Oct. 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Arizona Commemorative Air Force Museum (AZCAF) is excited to announce new Fall/Winter Museum Programs and exhibit. AZCAF is the only museum in the Phoenix area that focuses on combat aviation history and offers the public rides in World War II aircraft. It is a top-rated tripadvisor^® attraction and receives thousands of visitors each year who learn how airplanes evolved as a partner to combat operations from World War I through present.

Open Cockpit Tours: Every Friday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., visitors can opt for a true World War II aviation experience. Our pilots provide a highly specialized and personal tour inside a fighter trainer, torpedo bomber cockpit, and others. Additional charge required.

Speaker Series: The museum has curated special presentations on a range of topics from World War I aviators to unknown rescue missions to pivotal events in war history. World War II Airplane Rides: For those seeking adventure, our Desert Scenery Tour flights are sure to please. A flight in our open cockpit Stearman feels like you're riding a motorcycle in the sky. NEW World War I Exhibit Opens November 10, 2018 – "The Great War – Birth of U.S. Military Aviation": In the summer of 1914, tensions climbed around the world. The Serbian assassin of Archduke Ferdinand of Austria on June 28, 1914 would set off a chain reaction that led to the first global conflagration in history. While wars between only a handful started shortly after the assassination, 32 nations would ultimately go to war in what was first called the Great War and later called World War One (WWI) and lasted from 1914 to 1918. While no single exhibit could possibly cover the depth and breadth of such a war, this new exhibit explores the birth of U.S. military aviation.
