Newseum to Host Exclusive 2017 Presidential Inauguration Celebration Experience

WASHINGTON, Nov. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- To celebrate the inauguration of the 45th president of the United States, the Newseum will host an all-inclusive Presidential Inauguration Celebration Experience on Jan. 20, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Newseum will offer an exceptional vantage point on Pennsylvania Avenue as President-elect Donald Trump takes the oath of office at the U.S. Capitol and then leads the inaugural parade past the Newseum to the White House.

To attend the celebration, guests must purchase tickets in advance. Tickets go on sale to the public at 9 a.m. EST on Nov. 30 for $500 per person, but Newseum annual members and Corporate and Foundation partners will have priority access to purchase tickets beginning at noon EST on Nov. 14 for a discounted price of $350.

As guests enjoy views of the nation's capital and watch the inaugural parade pass directly in front of the Newseum's glass exterior, the festive atmosphere inside will feature music, activities and patriotic prize giveaways. Tickets to the Newseum's 2017 Presidential Inauguration Celebration Experience include a full-day's menu of signature dishes by Wolfgang Puck Catering: a continental breakfast, buffet lunch, afternoon dessert favorites of past presidents and celebratory cocktails throughout the day.

The celebration also will feature special programs with journalists and newsmakers as they discuss the 2016 election and the key issues facing the 45th president. Guests will have full access to the Newseum's 15 galleries and 15 theaters, and curators will offer gallery talks and share behind-the-scenes stories about the Newseum's extensive collections.

Members of the public who would like to purchase tickets during the priority access window are encouraged to join the Newseum by Nov. 13 to take advantage of the discounted member price. Beginning at noon EST on Nov. 14, members may purchase tickets at the discounted price of $350. At 9 a.m. EST on Nov. 30, full-price tickets will be available for $500 for both Newseum members and the public. Every guest, regardless of age, must have a ticket.

Individuals who join the Newseum by Nov. 13 will be able to purchase one ticket per membership. Press Pass members at the dual level and higher may purchase up to two tickets per membership. Members of the Friends of the First Amendment Society may purchase up to four tickets. Newseum members also receive early access to the event through a members-only entrance beginning at 8 a.m. on Jan. 20, one hour before the Newseum opens to other ticket holders.

Discounted group rates are available until Nov. 13, with a required minimum of 10 tickets. For more information, write to groupsales@newseum.org.

Two previous inaugural celebrations at the Newseum have sold out quickly, and the 2017 celebration is expected to reach capacity.
