Today Cunard announced its plans for the major redesign of Kings Court, the relaxed, informal buffet dining experience onboard Queen Mary 2.

During Queen Mary 2's extensive refit from 27 May to 21 June 2016, Kings Court will be completely transformed with a more open, intuitive central buffet area and reconfigured seating arrangements to create a relaxed self-service experience with a refined, yet informal ambiance.

"The remastered Kings Court is one of the most exciting innovations of Queen Mary 2's dramatic refit," said Richard Meadows, president, Cunard North America. "From new culinary experiences, to a pleasant, easygoing flow, we are confident that this thoughtfully re-designed dining experience is befitting of our guests' sensibilities, tastes and expectations."

Extensive development work involving Cunard guests and the onboard Queen Mary 2 galley teams has been undertaken over the last eighteen months in the redesign of this very popular area of the flagship. Enhancements are planned to both the service and culinary offerings in Kings Court with the refreshed venue featuring new menus, the convenience of pre-set tables and waiter-served drinks.

Cunard chefs will take center stage in the reimagined Kings Court as they guide guests through cooking demonstrations highlighting the remastered menus and the fresh, high quality ingredients used onboard. Various food journeys will be rotated throughout the dining experience, from enticing hot and cold buffet options to light snacks, afternoon treats and alternative evening dining cuisines such as Indian, Italian, Pan Asian, and Tex Mex.

The popular Chef's Galley area, serving Italian pastas and pizzas for lunch, will also offer a Chef's Table tasting menu on select evenings. Hosted by the Executive Chef, the Chef's Table will offer guests the opportunity to hear insights and recipe tips while enjoying a tasting menu expertly paired with fine wines.

With bright and fresh finishes, Art Deco inspired chandeliers, dramatic artworks, areas of warm timber flooring and the use of mirrors to accentuate the ocean view, the new sophisticated interior design perfectly complements the culinary enhancements being developed for Kings Court.
