Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon Invites Runners to Take Over the Strip at Night

LAS VEGAS, April 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon & ½ Marathon has opened registration for the 2016 race. This world's largest nighttime running event, which hosted more than 45,000 runners in 2015, returns on the weekend of November 12-13, 2016.

Runners of all levels are invited to light up the Las Vegas Strip for a unique nighttime running experience, taking over the closed lanes of Las Vegas Boulevard and past iconic Las Vegas sights. This running event was recently named by Forbes Travel Guide as one of the Top 12 Best Marathons in the world to travel for.

The only private event to exclusively shut down the world famous Las Vegas Strip at night, the Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon will take over on Sunday, November 13, 2016. Runners enjoy the sights and sounds of lavish hotels, world-class entertainment and some of Vegas' hottest music sensations performing on the course.

Race highlights include must-see Vegas sights such as the iconic 'Welcome to Las Vegas' sign, the Fountains of Bellagio, and finish line at the foot of the Mirage volcano, conveniently located less than one mile from more than 15 hotels, offering runners a short walk back after the race.

In addition to live entertainment along the course, the Las Vegas event is renowned for hundreds of runners dressed as Elvis, known as the Running Elvi. Every year the event includes a Run-Thru Wedding Chapel where runners in love can tie the knot or renew their vows on the race route.
