Rocky Mountaineer's Karen Hardie named one of Canada's Most Powerful Women

VANCOUVER, Nov. 23, 2016 /CNW/ - Rocky Mountaineer, the world's largest privately owned luxury tourist train, is pleased to announce that Karen Hardie, Vice President of Global Sales, has been named a 2016 Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winner by the Women's Executive Network.

As an integral member of Rocky Mountaineer's executive team, Hardie has held several senior positions within the company and is currently responsible for the strategic direction and worldwide sales of Rocky Mountaineer vacations. Her international leadership experience and innovative nature have played a critical role in increasing Rocky Mountaineer's annual revenue, profitability, and overall market share.

A strategic, inspiring, and accomplished business woman, Hardie's 30-year career path has spanned the globe, with senior positions in Canada, the United States, Australia, Hong Kong, and South Korea. Karen joined Rocky Mountaineer in 2012 as Director of Sales for the USA and, in 2013, relocated to the company's head office in Vancouver to work as Director of Global Sales Operations. Two years later, she earned a promotion to her current role as VP of Global Sales, where she restructured the business unit to increase sales, enhance efficiencies, and improve team cohesion.
