LONDON, April 28, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- The passport from the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis has just become stronger. It now ranks at number 26 in the world, giving visa-free and visa-on-arrival access to 156 destinations. This is based on the latest data from the International Air Transport Association.

There is a legal way to become an economic citizen of the Federation, without having a prior connection to it. This is possible through the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Programme, established in 1984 in St Kitts and Nevis. Introduced by Prime Minister Timothy Harris two years ago, the fund option became the fastest route to second citizenship, with an average processing time of 3-4 months. Wide global mobility, in normal circumstances, is one of the many reasons businessmen and wealthier families seek to obtain St Kitts and Nevis' citizenship.

"Many people investing in citizenship programmes want the ability to travel the globe with confidence and flexibility," says Les Khan, the CEO of the Federation's Citizenship by Investment Unit. "Once the current pandemic travel restrictions are lifted, we are delighted that the St Kitts and Nevis passport will continue to allow them to do this better than any other citizenship programme in the region," he adds.

Putting aside the temporary border closures, a St Kitts and Nevis passport holder can visit 156 destinations – including London, Geneva, Hong Kong, Moscow and other business hubs – without needing a visa before departure. The list, however, keeps expanding regularly, as Foreign Minister Mark Brantley focuses on establishing new diplomatic relations and visa waiver agreements on a regular basis.

Through the Citizenship by Investment Programme, applicants have a legal and safe way to become economic citizens of St Kitts and Nevis in exchange for a financial contribution. The fastest and most secure way to obtain second citizenship is through the fund option. Starting at US$150,000 for a single applicant, the Sustainable Growth Fund provides applicants with the most direct channel of investment, where the government can confirm the receipt of funds without delay or further intermediaries. Married couples and families can apply jointly for a more convenient fee.

While there are no residence, English language or culture requirements, all applicants must successfully pass all due diligence checks before making the qualifying contribution to the fund. Visit the government website to find out more and select an authorised agent.
