NEWARK, Calif., July 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Celebrate the 725th anniversary of Switzerland with the United Swiss Societies of Northern California, Inc. (USS) August 6th at Swiss Park in Newark, CA from 11:00am – 5:00pm. USS will also be celebrating it's 105th Anniversary. Two Celebrations in one!
The Foundation of Switzerland was made in early August with the Federal Charter of 1291. This is when three Alpine cantons (states), Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden swore the oath of confederation. The participants involved in the Federal Charter of 1291 are known as "Eidgenossen" (Confederates). Today Swiss National Day is celebrated on the Frist of August in Switzerland.
On August 6th at Swiss Park eat Swiss food, listen and dance to Swiss and German Music, watch Swiss Wrestling, participate in a Swiss Flag Parade, enjoy the Kids Zone with fun games and activities for kids and so much more. Explore everything Swiss with your family and friends in a fun casual outdoor picnic setting.
