(DULLES, Va.) – On Tuesday, April 9, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., airline catering workers at Gate Gourmet will hold a human rights vigil outside Gate Gourmet's Dulles facility. They will be protesting the termination of Lucvil Joseph, one of their union shop stewards who has been a leader in the fight against abusive working conditions at the airline catering giant.
Right before his termination, Joseph was educating members about key contract provisions, as well as raising health and safety concerns about airport ground vehicles.
More than 300 of Joseph's co-workers have signed a petition demanding that he be reinstated fully. Gate Gourmet is owned by the Switzerland-based company GateGroup, one of the largest airline food caterers in the world.
