Tempus Applied Solutions Awarded U.S. Africa Command Contract

WILLIAMSBURG, Va., April 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Tempus Applied Solutions (Tempus) announced today that the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) Special Operations Command Africa (SOCAF) division has selected the company as one of seven awardees of a five-year blanket purchase agreement (BPA) for airlift service in North and West Africa (NWA).

Under the contract, Tempus Jets Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Tempus, will compete with other awardees to answer AFRICOM task orders for fixed and rotary wing services throughout Northwest Africa, including countries such as Mali, Senegal, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Algeria. Tempus would provide services in a variety of company-owned and operated aircraft, including a Pilatus PC-12, Gulfstream III and Cessna Caravan.

AFRICOM requests for service could begin as early as May 2016 and extend more than five years and beyond. Tempus anticipates that there will be opportunities to substantially grow the amount of services provided to AFRICOM in coming years.

"This mission for AFRICOM is a focal point and substantial growth area for Tempus' international operations," said Tempus CEO Scott Terry. "We are committed to developing the fleet and personnel to accommodate AFRICOM's needs." Tempus has a significant track record in providing services throughout Africa, having flown more than 3,000 hours in the continent, primarily in East and Central Africa, over the past six years.

In addition to the base requirements of providing airlift services to AFRICOM, Tempus would be responsible for logistics, security, personnel management, passenger services, cargo services and more.
