PARK CITY, Utah, Aug. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- With more artists than ever before, the Park City Kimball Arts Festival celebrates its 47th year of art and entertainment. Taking place on Park City's Historic Main Street, the festival runs from Friday, August 12th through Sunday, August 14th.
"This year marks the largest curation of talent yet," explains Robin Marrouche, Executive Director of the Kimball Art Center. "We have hundreds of the most impressive artists in North America, and we've stepped up the Taste of Art and Festival After Dark offerings – really knocking it out of the park for 2016."
Festival patrons will experience more than a dozen mediums of art, representing 30 states and well over 200 artists. A jury has selected the best creators in ceramics, fiber art, glass, mixed medium, metal, photography, printmaking, wood, sculpture, jewelry, paintings, and drawings.
Park City's largest and longest running summer event also highlights live performances, music, film screenings, kids' activities and enticing dining options. By day, there will be 30 live concerts on multiple stages. After dark, there are plenty of entertainment options from "The Festival After Dark" and "Taste of Art": a partnership with resorts and restaurants to offer dining, live entertainment, film screenings, and a rodeo just outside of Park City.
For the younger set, activities at the Kids' Area gives young artists a chance to create with Kimball Art Center instructors. Face painting, jewelry making, and scavenger hunts ensue.
The 2016 Art Festival is proudly presented by Zions Bank and made possible by lead sponsor Porsche of Salt Lake City. Proceeds support the Kimball Art Center's free year-round art exhibitions, gallery tours monthly Art Talks, and art education.
