The National WWII Museum Announces All-New Easy Company: England to the Eagle's Nest Tour in 2017

NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The National WWII Museum will host two 13-day, 12-night tours following in the footsteps of the famed Easy Company – a group made legendary in the HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers," which was based on Museum founder Stephen E. Ambrose's book of the same title. From June 2 through 14, and again from September 11 through 23, 2017, historians and curators from America's official WWII Museum will lead guests on the real-life epic journey across Europe – through the hedgerows of Normandy, down the Netherlands' Hell's Highway, to the last line of defense at Bastogne and on to the Hitler's Eagles Nest.

Easy Company: England to the Eagle's Nest is an exclusive travel opportunity through The National WWII Museum that grants guests the unforgettable experience of following in the footsteps of the legendary 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne, including tour stops and special guests not featured anywhere else.

Friend of The National WWII Museum and "Band of Brothers" cast member, Michael Cudlitz, will join guests on a portion of the June departure, sharing behind the scenes insights and reflections on the legacy the blockbuster miniseries has left on the world in the 15 years since its production. The institution's September departure will feature a rare opportunity to travel with Easy Company veteran Brad Freeman, who will bring his poignant story and wartime experiences with his Band of Brothers to life throughout the journey.

Guided by the best battlefield experts in the field, participants will hear the personal stories and walk in the footsteps of the Citizen Soldiers who fought for the freedom we enjoy today.

The cost for Easy Company: England to the Eagle's Nest is $5,895 per person based on double occupancy, which reflects a $1,000 per couple early booking savings discount when reserved by March 3, 2017. The program features luxury 5-star and deluxe 4-star hotel accommodations, including a stay at the famed Grand Hotel Zell am See where the Band of Brothers spent time at the end of the war. Most meals, beverages and all gratuities are included. For more information and registration, visit http://www.ww2museumtours.org or call 877-813-3329 Ext 257.

The National WWII Museum tells the story of the American experience in the war that changed the world – why it was fought, how it was won, and what it means today – so that future generations will know the price of freedom and be inspired by what they learn. Dedicated in 2000 as The National D-Day Museum and now designated by Congress as America's National WWII Museum, it celebrates the American Spirit, the teamwork, optimism, courage and sacrifices of the men and women who fought on the battlefront and served on the Home Front.
