The Worth Group Announces The Definitive Exploration Of The Most Dynamic Cities In America

NEW YORK, June 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Worth Group, an integrated media company that produces content of the highest quality for sophisticated consumers, high net worth individuals, wealth advisors, prominent organizations and world-class brands, announced today the launch of an annual franchise titled Worth Destinations. Worth Destinations is the authoritative list of America's most dynamic cities, chosen for their thriving entrepreneurial, economic, cultural, philanthropic, tourist and civic activity.

Launched with the publication of the June/July issue of Worth magazine—the largest issue in Worth's 24-year history and one completely dedicated to a holistic evaluation of the business, investing, travel, civic leadership, and quality of life attributes in 15 U.S. cities—Worth Destinations is a yearlong editorial exploration that will include coverage on each of the Worth Destinations via digital, radio, broadcast and live-event channels. Additionally, some of the country's most compelling local philanthropy stories will be highlighted by Worth's philanthropy editor, three-time Emmy Award winner Soledad O'Brien, under the Worth Giving with Soledad O'Brien brand.

Nashville, for its booming start-up scene, creative and collaborative spirit, good governance, and cultural vitality, is the first city chosen as a Worth Destination after months of research and deliberation by the Worth editorial team.

"Over the past year, working with academics, experts and my editorial colleagues at Worth, we have looked across the country at dozens of destinations—both large and small—to identify the most dynamic U.S. cities," says Richard Bradley, Worth's editor in chief and chief content officer. "Nashville exhibited everything we were looking for: tremendous entrepreneurial growth, a dynamic investment opportunity, impressive cultural depth, and, frankly, it's truly a fun place to visit. Nashville really represents something special."

"We are honored to be the first city chosen as a Worth Destination," said Butch Spyridon, president and CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. "Worth is a trusted source for content of the highest quality, and we are proud that a publication of this caliber has recognized Nashville as the thriving, creative and authentic destination that it is. With a friendly business climate and unrivaled hospitality, Nashville is the perfect place to live, work or visit!"

Worth contributor Vikram Mansharamani, who recently was named LinkedIn's #1 Top Voice for Money & Finance, noted, "Particularly in a presidential election year, it's easy to be overwhelmed by media coverage about what isn't working. I'm thrilled to see Worth Destinations highlighting thriving American cities with well-deserved recognition."

Additional Worth Destinations will be announced in the coming weeks, with the entire list revealed publically on iHeartRadio and the Captivate Network on June 21. For more information, visit worth.com.
