TISOH and School Administrator Recognized for Contributions to Hospitality Education at NACE Las Vegas Chapter Gala

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- TISOH announced today that at the National Association for Catering & Events (NACE) Las Vegas Chapter Annual Gala, the school was recognized as an institution that has had an integral role in the success in educating young hospitality industry professionals.

For the past decade, TISOH has partnered with the Las Vegas Chapter of NACE to develop a food & beverage certificate program; counts numerous NACE professional members as part of the instructional team; has sent staff members to sit on multiple positions on the board; and founded the Las Vegas Student Chapter housed at the school. Nationally, TISOH administrators have and continue to hold leadership positions, including as the incoming president-elect.

Executive Director of TISOH, Timothy M. Lam CHT, CGSP was the honoree for the event in recognition for his contributions and support to the Chapter, the Foundation of NACE, and to the hospitality industry.

Lam has received industry recognition, among them distinction from the National Association for Catering and Events (NACE), including the 2013 Legacy Spotlight Member. He was on the 2011 President's List of NACE. Lam also won the 2008 and 2011 Spirit of NACE Award, Las Vegas Chapter and the 2011 and 2012 Volunteer Excellence Award. Lam was previously Program Chair for NACE Las Vegas Chapter for four years, he also just finished his term on the National Board of NACE and currently is the Immediate Past President of the Foundation of NACE. At the Foundation of NACE, he helped spearhead the scholarship program in honor of his father and Patti Shock. He is also a Foundation Fellow.

Lam currently sits on the Board of the Nevada Restaurant Association, and has a distinguished record of service in the industry and community.  From 2009 until 2011, he was on the Board of Advisors for the Southern Nevada Hotel Concierge Association (SNHCA), was the Professional Development Committee Chair for the Wedding Industry Professionals Association (WIPA) in 2009, sat on USA Ready Study's Advisory Board from 2012 to present, and has been Treasurer for Las Vegas New Century Lions Club since 2008.
