Preferred Hotel Group today announced the promotion of Lindsey Ueberroth to Chief Executive Officer. She will continue to serve in her role as President. The move is part of a carefully planned and anticipated succession of leadership as the company enters its 10th year of private ownership by the Ueberroth Family. The announcement was made by John Ueberroth, who will continue to serve as Chairman.
"It is with the full support of our Board of Directors that I announce this strategic transition in the leadership of Preferred Hotel Group," said John Ueberroth. "Lindsey's contributions over the past 10 years have enabled Preferred Hotel Group to achieve a position as the world's leading partner for independent hotels and resorts. I am confident in her ability to continue to drive great achievements for our company while delivering exceptional results for our partners."
Lindsey Ueberroth, 38, joined Preferred Hotel Group in 2004 and has served in several roles, including president from 2010 to the present.
"After 10 years of continuous growth, the company is in a prime position to facilitate global growth, drive greater financial success, and solidify our position as the champion of the independent hotel world," said Lindsey Ueberroth.
During her time as president, the company strengthened its position as an iconic global hospitality brand. Over the past 40 months, Preferred Hotel Group helped its global portfolio of member hotels successfully emerge from the worldwide economic downturn by doubling total year-end reservations revenue and generating a 25% increase in Average Daily Rate (ADR). Lindsey launched the company's new points-based iPrefer loyalty program that provided new ways for independent hotels to compete with the hard flag brands. Under her leadership, the company also executed the introduction of the Sterling Design and Summit Serviced Residences brands, marked first-time presence in more than 20 new countries, and formed partnerships with renowned independent hotels, ranging from Wynn Las Vegas and The Alpina Gstaad to The Mark Hotel and EAST Beijing. Shortly after joining Preferred Hotel Group, Lindsey made an immediate impact on the company by spearheading the development of the Preferred Boutique brand. A graduate of Wake Forest University, she has traveled to more than 100 countries.
John Ueberroth will remain active in the company's global development and growth efforts. Gail Ueberroth will continue to serve as the company's vice chairman and chief marketing officer.
Preferred Hotel Group represents 650 independent hotels, resorts, and serviced residences in 85 countries.
